Why Roken Labs?

Bio

Roken comes from a nickname one of my band members in Fight The Fight gave me, and from that day I have been Roken

Labs represents the experimental side of my approach to guitar tone: testing, refining, and pushing sounds until they feel right.

Roken Labs exists because so many people have asked how I achieve my tones. This platform is my way of sharing that knowledge — starting with guitar tones and presets, and expanding from there.

I’m a guitarist and musician based in Norway, active in the bands Fight The Fight and Tellus. I’ve been involved in music since 2009 and have played in several bands across different projects over the years.

My playing and sound are heavily tone-focused, and I regularly share performance and tone-related content on Instagram.

Neural DSP Archetype Gojira - The Chant

    These presets is based on the tones Gojira use in the song "The Chant" from their album "Fortitude". The preset in the verse is a different variant of the tone used in the chorus.

    Neural DSP Archetype Gojira - "Clone" Rythm tone

      I tried my best to replicate the tone Gojira use in the song "Clone" as well as the album "Terra Incognita". It was very hard to replicate the raw amp tone they have in that album with a plugin.

      Gojira L'Enfant Sauvage Tone

        This tone is designed to closely capture the guitar sound from Gojira’s L’Enfant Sauvage. Try it for free and feel free to share your feedback. Keep in mind: the bass is a crucial part of the overall tone on this album and heavily influences the final sound.

        Guitars is  Hapas Judge 625 with trans black flamed maple pickguard. www.hapasguitars.com
        and Kiesel Aries 6 with Poplar Burl top with translusent sapphire blue finish, Swamp ash body, and Roayl Ebony fretboard

        Pickups are custom EVA Pickups. www.evapickups.com

        In-ear monitoring i use for live is from Hantek Audio in Norway. This is custom in-ears. https://hantek.no

        Pedalboards for live is from templeaudio. These boards makes changeovers on stage so much quicker. Every live artist should try these boards. https://www.templeaudio.com

        Pick it up use is Jim Dunlop Tortex Flex Jazz III XL 1.00mm. I have used this pick for 8 years or something, and now i can't use anything else. https://www.jimdunlop.com/products/guitar-picks/tortex/

        Strings is D'Addario NYXL 10-56. This is a custom set which i need to order and customize myself because this is how I like it. I don't like my strings too thick, but the lower string needs to be thicker because of the lower tuning. I usally play in D-Standard, Drop C and C#Standard. https://www.daddario.com/
